When the devil wants to destroy a man, he does not look for Ak47 to shoot and kill him. He does not look for a poison.
One thing he does is to deposit a certain desire into that person, and that desire works tirelessly until it destroys the person it has been sent for.
That's when you hear things like, so and so is addicted to alcohol, addicted to marijuana, addicted to fornication, addicted to betting etc.
Those worthless desires that does not want to leave is not from God. Do not love it because of the pleasure that it gives but rather, pray over it again and again until it leaves because those are the things that the devil use to destroy many.
1 John 2:15-17 "Do not love the world or the things in the world. The love of the Father is not in those who love the world; ¹⁶ for all that is in the world—the desire of the flesh, the desire of the eyes, the pride in riches—comes not from the Father but from the world. ¹⁷ And the world and its desire are passing away, but those who do the will of God live forever.
The devil knows this that's why he wants to keep us bound in the love for the world and it's pleasure. And once you are bound in the love for the world, prayer becomes a problem, reading the word of God becomes a problem.
Admonition
Proverbs 12:11 says, "Those who till their land will have plenty of food, but those who follow worthless pursuits have no sense."
Other versions say, those who follow fantasis/desires of the flesh have no sense.
They have no sense in that, they can't even do anything productive, all they think of is the desire operating within them.
But I thank God because he has made us more than conquerors,
Romans 8:37 " No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us."
Hallelujah
Prayer
Heavenly Father, the king of the whole universe, blessed be your holy name, for you are highly exalted above the living creatures. We thank you because you have chosen to set us free from all the worthless desires in this world when you crucified your only beloved son. Thank you for setting us free, thank you for blessing us. In Jesus name, Amen.
